Brief Story of Kilbeggan Distillery
Kilbeggan Distillery (previously Brusna Distillery and Locke's Distillery) is an Irish whiskey distillery in Kilbeggan, County Westmeath, Ireland, located on the River Brosna.
Beam Suntory is the company that owns it. A modest pot still distillery with a license to distil dating back to 1757 and a copy of which may be found in the distillery.
Kilbeggan, like many other Irish distilleries, faced financial difficulties in the early 20th century and discontinued operations in 1957. The license, however, was kept, and the distillery was later restored, with distilling resumed on-site in 2007.
Famous fans of the distillery's whiskeys include British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill and Irish writer Myles na gCopaleen.

Its double distillation gives it a more robust flavor with more character than triple distilled blends. Aromas of sweet caramel, vanilla, and toasted wood. The delicate malt and pure grain become more visible.
Soft almond nougat, peach, caramel, and vanilla flavors precede a fast finish with soft, light malt sugar flavors. The dryness of the finish lingers along with some true woody oak tones.
Next is Kilbeggan Small Batch Rye, It is the first modern Irish whiskey of record to use this amount of rye in its mash, making it the first of its kind in today's market. White pepper, citrus, and soft ginger spices mingle with soft green fruits and a rich creamy aroma.
Beautiful warming mouthfeel of textured vanilla cream, floral spice, clove, and forest sorrel, developing to a crescendo of warm spice and biscuit dryness on the palate. Well and complex, thick buttery coating with a return to vanilla but with candied jellies and touches of bubblegum; spice and oil coating linger long into the finish.
