Brief Story of Ron Zacapa Rum
Diageo distributes and markets Ron Zacapa Centenario, a premium rum produced in Guatemala by Rum Creation and Products, a subsidiary of Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala. Zacapa Centenario was founded in 1976 to commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of the founding of Zacapa, Guatemala's easternmost town.
Alejandro Burgaleta, a doctor and chemist, created it by the blending, stabilization, and maturation of long-aged rums. Ron Zacapa is distinguished by the fact that it is matured in a facility at a high altitude with natural coolness, preventing evaporation and resulting in a smooth product.

Zacapa Rum is manufactured utilizing the Sistema Solera process, which is crafted by Master Blender Lorena Vasquez from the first press of virgin sugar cane decades.

The wine is rich, complex, and full-bodied. Starting with dried fruit and apricot, it progresses to savory oak, nutmeg, leather, and tobacco, with coffee and vanilla notes, all balanced by a spicy touch of cinnamon and ginger. Honeyed butterscotch, spicy oak, and dried fruit combine to create a complex flavor. Ron Zacapa No. 23 Rum is finest enjoyed straight up, on the rocks, or in a dark spirit cocktail.
Next is Ron Zacapa XO, It has a subtle fruit deep note at the conclusion, with a balance of mature toasted oak, burnt caramel, dry roasted almonds, marzipan, and orange peel. Balance of sweetness, fruit, spice, and spirit on the palate. Dark cherry, chocolate, date, and prune with sweet oak notes of clove, vanilla, and cinnamon make this a long, smooth, and sweet wine.
On the end, there are lighter aromas of dried mango, raspberry, and ginger. Ron Zacapa XO goes well with dark chocolate and sweets and is best served neat or on the rocks.
