A recent addition to the Plantation line of rums, Grand Reserve marries the flavors of Caribbean spirits with the mastery of French cognac, to deliver a world-class flavor.
Distilled in Barbados and matured in both Barbados and France. The final maturation is done in French Cognac casks which add a touch of exotic spice to the spirit. A very good, easy drinking rum that starts off surprisingly sweet before leading towards more spice and oak influenced flavors.
Beautiful amber gold. A true bajan rum with complex and well-balanced notes of ripe tropical fruits and vanilla, evolving to delicate hints of white peach and coconut. The palate is warm and complex with 2 different levels of flavors. The double aging creates a first wave of tropical candied fruits leading to voluptuous bourbon vanilla notes, whose richness is perfectly balanced by the fresh fruits and delicate tannins of the second wave.
Just like the Jamaican and Guyanese rums, this rum, produced in Barbados, remains faithful to the traditional methods of British rum making. Powerful, rich and concentrated, they are fermented for a lengthy period, and are often distilled.
