Robertson Winery, Chardonnay – fresh, harmonious wine made from the same grape variety, grown on gravelly soils containing clay and limestone. Harvesting is carried out only to achieve optimum fruit maturity. Fermentation takes place in tanks of stainless steel (80%) and in wood (20%) at a controlled temperature of 12 ° C and lasts for 19 days. Within 80 days the wine is aged on the lees for complexity taste and aroma. Then 20% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 6 months.
The first Chardonnay grapes were harvested and brought to the cellar in the first week of February. The vines benefit from the high lime content, which ensures a healthy, well-drained growing medium. It also guarantees that the Chardonnay flavor is enhance and quality is increased. Straw yellow in color and the wine shows a rounded, well-balanced taste with notes of citrus and melon, with a velvety texture and a clean, crisp finish.
